Love & Quiches Gourmet® Receives Three Awards; Pursues “Safe Quality Food” (SQF) Certification
Love & Quiches Gourmet® (www.loveandquiches.com), one of the nation’s leading dessert and quiche manufacturers, is pleased to announce that it has won three awards. These accolades recognize its contributions to the industry and ongoing commitment to growth and excellence in manufacturing.
About the honors
Several groups have acknowledged the company’s accomplishments. Among them is the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank), which bestowed Love & Quiches with a “Small Business Exporter of the Year” award at its 39th Annual Conference in Washington, DC in April. Love & Quiches was also the 2014 recipient of a prestigious “Global Trade Award,” from the National Foreign Trade Council, in honor of its significant role in the growth of international trade in the New York metropolitan region.
“Over the past year, we’ve expanded our global reach and programs are in place to take our business even further later this year,” says Andy Axelrod, CEO of Love & Quiches. “International distribution is a core part of our business model and something that we work hard at excelling in.”
While the global market is growing for the firm, Love & Quiches continues to maintain and grow its regional ties. As such, the Long Island Business News awarded the Freeport, Long Island based firm with its “Corporate Citizenship – The Business of Giving” honor. The award highlights the firm’s economic and social contributions to the community.
Next Leveling
Love & Quiches is not content to bask in its recent accomplishments, however. “We always strive to take our business to the next level,” adds Axelrod. “We are constantly evolving to meet — and exceed — our customer’s needs.
As part of that initiative, Love & Quiches Gourmet has begun pursuing a Level 2 “Safe Quality Food” (SQF) certification, which designates companies that adhere to exemplary standards in food safety worldwide. Obtained through the SQF Institute, it provides consumers, retailers and service providers who purchase a company’s products with verifiable proof and ongoing monitoring of its food safety practices. “This is important to us,” notes Al Mayden, Love & Quiches’ vice president of operations.“This initiative involves a great deal of time, energy and effort. And it’s all worth it, because we at Love & Quiches are 100% dedicated to providing the best in food safety practices to our customers and their customers.”
